Welcome to the newsletter for Radio Tacoma KTAH-LP (low power) 101.9 FM. While you can hear us on the radio, of course, you can find all of our locally produced programs on our archive at radiotacoma.org.

Flagship programming

Our flagship show is Radio Tacoma Interviews, where we interview local people and local organizations. We recently interviewed Matt Nagle, editor of the Tacoma Weekly, the weekly newspaper that focuses on local people, news, sports, and entertainment, and Matt wrote a lovely article about Radio Tacoma.

Please note that our studio is located at UrbanWork Space at 950 Broadway M100, Suite 27.

Community

Radio Tacoma interviews with all 6 mayoral primary candidates are available on our website archive under Power to the People, and can also be heard at noon and 9pm on MWF.

Remember to vote in the August 5th primary!

Music

Each newsletter will also highlight one of the local musicians we air and we are starting with Victoria Fragoso, who hosts Tuesday with Toya on Radio Tacoma.

Here is what Toya says about her show:

I started this show to uplift independent artists in the Pacific Northwest and to connect voices across the Tacoma, Olympia, and Seattle scenes in a way that could build a more empowered, supportive music community. Getting into the Tacoma music scene was about making space for truth, creativity, and connection. As a mom, artist, and community builder, I intend to bring heart, clarity, and presence to every conversation.

Season 5 of Tuesdays with Toya is here. Tune in Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 9:00 PM to Radio Tacoma 101.9 FM or the live stream at radiotacoma.org. You can also stream anytime on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or on the Radio Tacoma archive.
