California Jumbo Sacks $15.00-17.00, 68% Above the Five-Year Median

$15.00-17.00 on California yellow jumbo, 50-lb sacks, held flat on the week per USDA shipping-point reports through July 31, a range sitting 68% above the five-year median for this period. Yellow mediums, also 50-lb sacks, came in softer on the week but remain 53% above their five-year median, keeping both California size categories well above historical norms.

Chart: origin/california

  • Idaho shipments (movement): 43 (10,000-lb units), down 77.7% week over week from the prior week's level, per movement reports. Shipments remain 451% above the five-year median, indicating last week's pace was the seasonal outlier, not this week's.
  • Washington exports (movement): 38 (10,000-lb units), down 70.6% week over week and 65% below the five-year median, per movement reports.
  • Washington yellow jumbo, 50-lb sacks: mostly $15.00 per USDA shipping-point reports, below the California range on the same size and pack.
  • New Mexico yellow jumbo, 50-lb sacks: $18.00-20.00 per USDA shipping-point reports, leading the domestic 50-lb jumbo field.
  • Georgia yellow jumbo, 40-lb cartons: mostly $23.00-24.00 per USDA shipping-point reports.
  • Peru imports (border crossings): 12 (10,000-lb units), up 112% week over week per movement reports; still 68% below the five-year median.

Mexico led import channels at 148 (10,000-lb units, week of July 30) per border-crossing movement reports. Canada posted 6 (10,000-lb units, week of July 30), down 70.8% week over week and 25% below its five-year median.

Data note: Oregon, Columbia Basin and Idaho-Eastern Oregon are among 33 series that have not updated in over two weeks. Treat any figure from those series as stale.
