KNIGHTSFOIL SCRIPTORIUM I
KNIGHTSFOIL SCRIPTORIUM I ✤ APRIL 2026
Greetings,
Welcome to the very first missive from the Knightsfoil Scriptorium!
In the age of the slow enshittification of social media, it became clear that a different sort of communication might be in order. And thus the SCRIPTORIUM was born.
In general, these e-missives will share art updates, lore about upcoming events, and notifications of commissions opening and closing. In the future they may also feature exclusive print shop discount codes. The SCRIPTORIUM pledges to plague thee no more frequently than monthly to biweekly.
The first announcement is that most copies of Blood & Brocade have shipped! This is an Interview with the Vampire historical fashion themed fanzine. Last year, I illustrated a 16th century fashion meets J.C. Leyendecker portrait of Lestat for it. It was my very first zine! I had a blast, and it was wonderful to work with so many other amazing artists. Digital copies are still available if you missed out.
2026, however, has a slow year in terms of new art. Most of my illustration time has been taken up by one big project! I've been sewing a medieval inspired patchwork tent cover from scratch. The vision: a tent fit for a fantasy magic item trader, perfect for trading their trinkets at market. This will massively upgrade my outdoor vending aesthetic, and allow me to apply to renaissance festivals! It's been very enjoyable to try a new creative process, as I have very little formal sewing experience. For this purpose, I thrifted curtains and sheets, and set about creating a simple pattern. Fortunately, any sewing for this project is in straight lines, making things much easier. The difficult part came when it was time to assemble the pieces of what is more or less a ten feet by ten feet quilt. Saying it’s a lot of fabric is putting it mildly. I've been using my grandmother's 1926 sewing machine, and learning how to work with all its little quirks. Modern machines have more safety features, for example...

The other agenda taking up my free time has been applying to in-person events. I am delighted to announce I will be vending at the following events.
