Open 4 Work!
I thought maybe it would seem more urgent if I put a “!” in the title. Originally I had three, but it looked like a scam, so I kept it to one.
I would like to have a regular animation job again. I have been looking and trying for whatever floats my way, but my dudes, I got a “no thanks” from a job for storyboarding on the Hello Kitty Movie earlier this year. That was a nice little roller coaster of feelings. I read a script for it a long time ago when they wanted my thoughts on it, and now I can’t even land a story job on it. TBF, I don’t know if anyone who was on it when I read that script is on it, now. I would not have wanted to work on THAT script… I do know people on it, now though. I have MANY QUESTIONS, but no one even called me! I got rejected via cold email, dawg. I have two Peabodies (Peabodys?) and 3 Emmys! The fuq? Whatevs tho—
I’m not completely unemployed, I’m working on a couple short projects for non-profits that I care deeply about— it’s definitely soul-filling work, but like most work of that sort, it doesn’t earn animation guild healthcare hours. Damn.
I keep forgetting I have this way of contacting people and telling them my situation, where I don’t have to throw it onto a social platform and hope that the algorithm gods smile upon my post— so here I am, emailing you about it
If a position is available, or happens to come up at your studio, or workplace, even if it’s not in animation, please think of me. I am very creative and very successful at bringing fun, exciting, and deep emotional impact to any project I am a part of. I’m good at being a collaborator and listening to people’s feedback. I am also REALLY good at leading a team, and directing. I don’t really like doing it, because it’s hard, but I am good at it, nonetheless.
Anyway, here’s my latest phone karaoke, hope you like it:
Sorry this email got a little long.
