How Mill Test Certificates Support Special Steel Traceability

A Mill Test Certificate is more than a chemistry report. It is the document that connects a delivered steel bar, block or forged product to its heat number, production route and inspection results.

Buyers should first confirm that the heat number on the certificate matches the material marking and packing list. The reported chemical composition must comply with the ordered grade and standard. Mechanical results such as tensile strength, yield strength, elongation, impact energy and hardness should be checked against the specified delivery condition.

The production route also matters. EAF melting, LF refining and VD vacuum treatment serve different metallurgical purposes, while ESR may be specified when higher cleanliness and structural uniformity are required. Forging ratio, heat-treatment condition, ultrasonic testing and machining allowance should be included in the purchase specification whenever they affect the final component.

Hubei Keyspark Special Steel Co., Ltd. provides full-process production and processing supported by original mill test certificates and strict quality control. Review available material and processing capabilities at Keyspark Steel.
