the garden gate, vol. 10 🌿

a quick word from the gardener

I can’t believe I’ve done this 10 times. Ten emails, forty-nine notes — hours of listening and thinking and writing represented here.

When I look back, I feel gratitude. It’s only been five months, but I’m so thankful for this space — for this little gate we keep opening together.

To tend the garden I’ve been given: that’s the task of my life.
First, the inner garden — the secret place where Yahweh tends and works alongside me in my own heart.
Then, the outer gardens — the spaces and relationships I’ve been entrusted with. Each is its own small patch of soil.

This is a hard, but good, good work — this caring for what’s alive, this co-laboring with Spirit.

Maybe this digital garden sits in the space between — not quite inner, not quite outer — a place of overflow and listening. I’m not sure yet what it’s becoming, but tending it still feels right.

notes to explore:

If I could trace a single thread through this season, it would be love.

Rooted in Love begins there — learning to let God’s affection be the nourishment of every practice.

Discipline or Devotion grows from it, asking what happens when our rhythms flow from desire instead of duty.

And He Is a Person reminds me why any of it matters: this tending is not about systems or success, but about Someone — alive, near, and endlessly kind.

today’s invitation

Every morning the sun rises, sometimes behind clouds, but always there.
Every morning the call is the same — to turn our face toward the light.

The whispered invitation for every breaking dawn is simple:

  • turn toward God again — before you’re fully awake, while it’s still quiet
  • anchor yourself in prayer, in Word, in the Spirit who reminds you who you are
  • trust His process of transformation — unseen, ongoing, already at work

He walks with you here, in this garden of ordinary moments.
There is no law here, only love.

Arise, my darling,
my beautiful one, come with me.
— Song of Solomon 2:10

Thank you for going down the path with me today. If this is your first time, I encourage you to check out this note explaining the idea of the digital garden and what's up with the weird title 😄.

Peace to you! ✌️
