Milwaukee Labor Day weekend: choose your route
This is a four-day handoff. Harley starts tonight. Friday is a concert choice. Saturday is the real fork: keep the Third Ward art day together or spend the day inside Baird Center. Sunday is the cleaner outdoor window. Monday moves from Zeidler Union Square to the lakefront.

The RIDE Home opens with free outdoor music from 5–9 PM and Lita Ford at 7:30. Cathedral Square Market and Jazz in the Park form the smaller downtown alternative; Happy Together at Uihlein Hall is the indoor choice if storms interfere.
FRIDAY · CHOOSE ONE CONCERT
Stay at the Harley-Davidson Museum campus for free music through 9 PM, or make Brad Paisley’s 7:30 PM BMO Pavilion show the ticketed destination. The headline windows overlap.
SATURDAY · KEEP THE ART DAY TOGETHER
Broadway runs 10 AM–5 PM. The Marshall Building opens seven floors of galleries and studios from 11 AM–7 PM, and Gallery 218’s free reception extends the art day to 8 PM. Start outside, move inside, then choose the finish.

Full-day indoor alternative: Cream City Convergence runs 8 AM–11 PM at Baird Center. Spectator passes are $35, or $10 for ages 3–12; you do not have to compete.
SUNDAY · USE THE CLEANER WINDOW
Use Harley early, the Third Ward in the afternoon, or carry the day through The Wallflowers at the Pabst at 8 PM.
MONDAY · PARADE TO FESTIVAL
Laborfest begins with an 11 AM parade staged around Zeidler Union Square and continues to the Summerfest grounds. The free, cashless festival runs at Henry Maier Festival Park until 4 PM; no event transportation returns to Zeidler.
Leave backpacks, coolers, chairs, wagons and water bottles at home.

NWS currently places Friday’s likeliest showers before 9 AM, gives Saturday only a slight shower chance before 1 PM, and keeps Sunday and Labor Day mostly sunny.
Broadway-area closures run from 5 PM Friday through 11:59 PM Sunday. Park outside the festival footprint.
