This weekend has one clear time to plan around: noon at Veterans Park. Frank Mots brings giant kites and a 600-kite launch Saturday and Sunday. Friday is the Wisconsin Card Show or Kacey Musgraves. Sunday adds a free family day before Eric Clapton at Fiserv Forum.

Cathedral Square Market starts at 3 PM, then Goth Barge takes over at 6 PM for the final Jazz in the Park of the season. It’s the last Thursday night to pair the market with live music in Cathedral Square this year.

The Wisconsin Card Show opens at Baird Center from 3–8 PM. Across downtown, Kacey Musgraves brings the Middle of Nowhere Tour to Fiserv Forum at 7:30 PM.
Treat them as alternatives. Trying to do both means leaving the Card Show before its Friday close.
SATURDAY · GET TO THE KITES BEFORE NOON
Frank Mots is the weekend lead: free at Veterans Park from 10 AM–6 PM, with the grand launch of 600 kites at noon.
If the launch matters, Juneautown’s recommendation is simple: be at Veterans Park by 11 AM. Event-day parking details still have not been published, so leave extra time for the lakefront approach.
Food-and-music alternative: Puerto Rican Festival runs 11 AM–9 PM at Henry Maier Festival Park. The previously posted general-admission offer has ended, so use the live checkout for the current ticket price.
SUNDAY · FAMILY DAY OR A SECOND SHOT AT THE KITES
Northwestern Mutual Community Park hosts a free Family Fun Day from 10 AM–2 PM, with performances beginning at 10:15. Free event parking is published for Lot G, south of Mid-Gate.
Frank Mots continues at Veterans Park from 10 AM–5 PM, with another 600-kite launch at noon. If you saw the launch Saturday, Family Fun Day is the cleaner Sunday choice.
Eric Clapton closes the weekend at Fiserv Forum at 7:30 PM.
WEATHER + THE LAKEFRONT NOTE
NWS currently gives Friday a sunny window. Saturday is mostly sunny with only a slight shower chance before early afternoon, and Sunday is currently mostly sunny.
For Frank Mots, weather is only half the planning question. The fall festival still has no published event-day parking or road-control plan.

Doors Open Milwaukee is still two weekends away, but now is the time to check special-tour reservations.
Most of the 180-plus participating buildings do not require tickets. Start with one special tour you care about, then build nearby walk-in stops around it.
Special-tour inventory can change quickly, so check availability before making City Hall, Jones Island or another reservation-only stop the anchor of your day.
