The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Moderate Risk designation — Level 4 of 5 — for portions of Illinois and Indiana, with severe weather threats extending into Missouri, Iowa, Ohio, and neighboring states.

The storm system is expected to push eastward overnight into Michigan before weakening as it approaches Southern Ontario, though Canadian forecasters note that damaging wind gusts in excess of 100 km/h and a localized tornado risk cannot be ruled out for Deep Southwestern Ontario, particularly near the Lake Huron and Lake Erie shorelines. In Indiana, a cooling and drying trend is expected to follow the system's passage early Thursday, with quieter conditions forecast through the weekend before another low-pressure system may approach early next week.
