Samples and Monsters and Cares, oh my 👹❤!
Welcome monster-enthusiast !
I'm Jennifer Reuter, an Australian illustrator and storyteller who can't stay away from drawing big awful grins for too long. Thanks for trying out the old-school way and doing yourself a favour by signing up to what you're really yearning for!
AHem. Meaning:
- project updates and snippets about stories and characters delving into urban fantasies where the 'magic' meshes in strange ways with reality (and monstrous romances of course).
- Tabletop RPG game summaries where miserable characters learn their much-needed lesson (in the above setting)
- newest illustrations of elegant skeletons, beautiful terrors and nasty bastards bathed in zany colours and grunge.
- genre diving and recommendations what's in (truly) monstrous romance and aligned.
- comics, zines and prints to hug to yourself when they're available and on sale.
- in the fan realms, a good chunk of Bionicle, a very specific quadrant of Star Wars, and slices of Grim Fandango and Skulduggery Pleasant.
Grit
Something coarse, grainy.
Courage and resolve, or a strength of character.
Current project
Your next mission is infiltrating a prestigious rival mob's ball party for their weapon plans and convincing one of your six (or seven?) miserable, monstrous biomech Skakdi colleagues to assist you... or date you while they're at it.
With the boons of a heist always a temptation among outlaws, how well will your new bond with your chosen company last?
Romantic, despicable and delightfully cheeky, Hateship is a visual novel dating sim which drops you into the palms of a few skeevy, and a few hopelessly messy, disasters for an experience in navigating their dramatic attitudes... or make them worse.
Play the Demo!
What about the poster kids on your way in? They are from a sci-fi romance comic project which I will continue after Hateship is completed. To tie you in until then:
A soldier would rather romance the demon they're on a scouting mission with, in the aftermath of a gruesome battle on Mars that left everyone stranded and forced to work together. But brutality bodes when morbid emotions and words are left unsaid...
You can also find out more about the soldier here, and more about the monster here. ;)
Please be advised that content will be [16+], or [MA15+] if you're familiar with Australian ratings. This involves: Illustrated blood, body horror, sexual references (but not so far as smut), coarse language and themes around death & violence, creepy things, and complicated relationships.
I will always provide content warnings where possible, and leave the most disturbing material in a separate link or blog post, but if blood makes you queasy at a minimum, take care of your mental health, and feel free to unsubscribe.
If you're still here, still keen, and better yet: buzzing... get ready for the latest email to make its entry~
Be sharp,
Jennifer
