If SOPs are written correctly, they should be descriptions of the best known way to do any activity.

It gives us a way to remember, improve and communicate the best methods.

It is also a huge support system for the doer. In fact, it also becomes a clear mirror for the doer’s growth & abilities.

If they can follow the SOPs consistently, you know that they're automatically working in the best possible way. If not, the higher-ups get a clear picture of their abilities.

If they consistently cannot follow the SOP, then they're simply a wrong fit for the role.

In fact, the more an SOP is used, the better it becomes through refinement. When the support becomes better, so does the quality of output.

So, this is a neutral & common ground for everyone to measure quality of work.

So, you now have a method of finding out who is doing less than their best!
