It's never too Technical
How to tackle complexity
If you’re one of thoese who feel tech is too complicated, worry not. I’ll show you a very simple technique that will help you understand any kind of technical or complex stuff.
It’s made up of 2 pieces only:
Break it down (the fun part)
Input-Processing-Output (or IPO if you so prefer. This is the i-finally-understand part)
First one simply is the act of seeing the smaller peices a system is made up of. For e.g., if you have a car, then it’s the tires, the engine, etc. If you take the engine itself, it’s the pistons, the crankshaft, etc.
Simple to do & easy to understand.
The second one is even simpler — you just need to see what goes in, what happens & what comes out of each part you found earlier. For e.g., the engine takes in fuel and air, makes continous tiny bombs of it & and that is what turns the wheels.
Better still, you don’t even have to understand the processing part fully. You can just say, it takes in fuel & air, something happens to that & the wheels turn. This still gives you some clarity on how it works. You can then simply “zoom in” to the process part later to understand it fully.
Here’s a short video about this. Longer one coming soon!
