Hi everyone, Michelle here! This is probably one of my favourite seasons – there’s a certain kind of manic energy that Toronto gets when the summer starts to wind to a close. A sense that the ideal self that we had imagined didn’t quite manifest – or a desire to hold onto them, they who manifested in a phantomic flicker, a glitch in the otherwise listless rolling of days that is urban life near the end of the Anthropocene. For a moment – we swear! – we were happy, free. We were on Augusta Avenue, and known, and loved, feeling the pavement underneath our New Balances.

There’s one last in-person meetup before full classes start, and it’s this Sunday afternoon, September 13th in Ramsden Park. There is no cost to coming, just show up if you want to spend some time with myself or Arlene (Fall Intern <3) or Aaryan + Omama (Digital Gardens fellows!!!) or other students, community members. We’ll be on a blanket, there will be minimal snacks and fuss, and I’ll probably be playing Fred Again.

I’m still playing with programming for this Sunday but I’d love for folks who come to leave with at least one new, interesting connection – so you have that to look forward to. Make one last friend before the Great Relational Culling of Winter… you know what I mean?
