IS: What's in a website?
Upcoming events across the web:
- Friday, Sept 25: Open IS Connection Call
- Sunday, Sept 27: IS Community Call 23.11 (Season finale)
The previous newsletter was "Pent up" and our Community Call last Sunday was titled "Interdependence".
What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet

I'd paste a picture here, of the new homepage design "above the fold" of the new intentionalsociety.org. But it's not a static picture. So click, take a look for 9 seconds, and then come back here okay?
Paradoxical both-and-ness of contradictory perspectives — it's a hallmark of post-conventional capacity, and that's what finally felt right enough to make a fresh first impression. I hope it's an impression that connects people like you with people like us (an us that includes you). I hope it evokes the connection of outer with inner with each-other, an integrated stance in the face of uncertainty.
Trying to express essence via words-and-pictures, trying to express territory via map, is an exercise in failure an imperfection. The new site is definitely more pretty, more colorful, more visual — and the underlying values it's trying to point at are "Handcrafted. Intentional. Harmonious." I wish for some hand-drawn elements added in to give more of a "made by humans" feel in the age of AI. I wish for more purpose and care put into every piece of text. I wish for more humanity in-harmony-with the nature of those beautiful photos. And, it's already so much better than the previous site that it would be silly to hold back longer. There is an effort-to-reward curve that flattens out, and a point where refining change runs out past the relational responsiveness that's guiding it.
Want to help? The material that boosts us up the further curve of potential improvement is your perspective, diverse perspective, and feedback about what you want this website to do for you. Hearing anything that matters to you is a gift to the builders and to the future readers trying to "find their others". Does seeing our efforts, and hearing a bit about what we're trying to do, bring any response from your body and your wishes? You can contribute by replying to this email.
Cheers,
James
