IS: Entering a new era

Last week's newsletter was "Seeing like a scene" and the Community Hub session title was "T-group stretching".
As we approach the five-year anniversary of Intentional Society (in January), I've noticed that this milestone date seems to line up with my shifting perceptions of what IS is in a way that feels definitional — as in, this date demarcates for the first time something that could be called "era" or "epoch." As in: IS has spent five years in its first era, and is now entering its second era.
Wow.
Yes this has been a gradually approaching for a while now, the call rising and strengthening as our readiness advances the horizon. But now, launching the org will really embody that transition, in that it brings online something that IS has not been in its first five years: a new phase of ambition matching maturity by unabashedly adding doing to the being, world-serving to the self-developing. What do I see defining these eras?
Era 1: Becoming who we want to be
Era 2: (and) Serving what we value
The two go hand-in-hand of course, spiraling, feeding into each other. But yeah, Intentional Society (as a personified spirit) has figured out enough of the inner game of individual self-development and is now ready to 'rise from the pillow' to act in the world. This... calls for a bigger celebration in January, for starters. And I think it gives me, we, us, permission to think bigger and flow wider. Here's to a new era.
