Two Iran markets disagree: 0.9% vs 31%
Monday, August 31, 2026 · Edition 1
Two Iran markets can't quite agree on how calm the Persian Gulf is. One says the crisis is over. The other still prices a one-in-three chance the region needs a formal treaty to fix it. When two markets on the same story diverge, at least one of them is wrong.
🌍 Geopolitics
Iran full airspace closure by August 31?
At 0.9%, this is the third-biggest mover on the board, down 36 points in a month. Airspace closure has gone from a live scenario to a rounding error, and volume ran 3.5x its weekly average getting there. The board is heavily favoring ceasefire durability, at least on the aviation front.
Iran-Oman Hormuz Agreement by September 30?
Here's the tension. At 31%, the Hormuz deal market still prices near one-in-three odds of a formal Iran-Oman diplomatic instrument, unchanged over the month. Yet the airspace market next door has collapsed to 0.9%. One market treats the Iran situation as settled enough that planes fly freely. The other treats it as unsettled enough to need a treaty. Both cannot be fully right.
⚙️ Tech
Will NVIDIA be the largest company in the world by market cap on September 30?
At 91.5%, up 30.5 points in a month, NVIDIA's grip on the top spot is the fourth-biggest mover on the board and the strongest single-month re-rating in Tech. A month ago this was closer to a coin flip on the margins. Now the board heavily favors it holding the crown.
Next Mythos-Class Model released by August 31, 2026?
At 14.5%, down 23.5 points in a month, the next Anthropic Mythos-class model is the fifth-biggest faller on the board. Claude Fable 5 shipped in June, and since then the odds of an imminent successor have been cut sharply. The board no longer leans toward a fast follow-up.
🎬 Culture
Will Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Look get less than 20 million views on week 1?
At 63%, the board leans toward one of gaming's most anticipated trailers falling short of 20 million views in its first week. That is a bearish read for a title this size. Volume ran nearly 5x its weekly average, the loudest activity relative to its own norm on today's board.
🗳️ Politics
Putin out as President of Russia by December 31, 2026?
At 6.5%, the price didn't move a cent while $128K changed hands in 24 hours, roughly six times the market's ~$22K daily baseline. Heavy flow, flat price. We can't tell you who traded or why, only that this much size usually leaves a mark and here it left none. An unusual mechanical footprint worth flagging.
The airspace market says the Iran story is over. The Hormuz market says it still needs a signature. Editions are made of the gap between those two prices.
