Google's AI odds jump to 70% as Anthropic slips

Friday, October 16, 2026 · Edition 1

The AI leaderboard just reordered itself. Google's odds of holding the top model went from roughly 10% to 70% in a month, the single biggest repricing on today's board, while Anthropic's IPO odds slid 11 points over the same window. Two moves, one month, pointing the same direction.

⚙️ Tech

Will Google have the best AI model at the end of October 2026?

At 70%, Google's grip on the top model is the biggest mover across all 36 markets on the board, up from around 10% a month ago. That is a full reordering of the AI hierarchy in four weeks. Worth setting against Apple, whose odds of being the world's largest company climbed 5.25 points to 29.1% in the same window. The market is repricing two different corners of big tech upward at once.

Will Anthropic IPO by December 31, 2026?

71.5%, down from 82.5%, the fourth-largest monthly move on the board. Here is the tension: the same month that crowned Google the model leader knocked 11 points off Anthropic's listing odds. A public listing is still favored, but the board's enthusiasm for Anthropic's position cooled exactly as Google's heated up.

Will Apple be the largest company in the world by market cap on December 31?

29.1%, up 5.25 points in a month, the sixth-biggest mover on the board, with today's volume running 4.2x its weekly average. Not a dramatic figure on its own, but set against Google's surge it sketches a multi-horse race at the top of the tech stack rather than a single runaway name.

📈 Crypto

Will Bitcoin dip to $77,500 in October?

32.5%, with today's volume running 5.2x its weekly average, the third-most-traded market on the board. The telling comparison is down the curve: the $79,000 daily-dip market sits at 1.3%. So the board leans toward a meaningful chance of a drawdown spread over weeks while treating any single-day lurch as remote.

💵 Macro

Will the Fed decrease interest rates by 25 bps after the December 2026 meeting?

0.8%, down 3 points in a month, with volume at 3.3x its weekly average. The board treats a December cut as all but ruled out. That is the awkward backdrop to the crypto page: no easing priced for the rest of the year, yet the Bitcoin board still carries real odds of a sizable dip. One of those pages is not fully reading the other.

🗳️ Politics

Will Indiana enact a data center moratorium by December 31, 2027?

$539K traded in 24 hours against a roughly $4K daily baseline, and the price did not move a cent from 12.5%. That is the largest volume-without-repricing gap on the board. Size moved through a niche tech-policy market and the number held flat. The flow and the price are telling different stories.

🌍 Geopolitics

US-Iran Hormuz Agreement by December 31?

32.5%, with roughly $42K trading in 24 hours against a $2K daily baseline, about 21x its usual flow, and no price movement at all. A geopolitical market tying the Israel-Iran ceasefire to energy risk absorbed a heavy day of volume and stayed put. Another case where the tape moved and the probability did not.

The AI hierarchy reshuffled this month, and the board moved Google up and Anthropic down in the same breath. Elsewhere, two markets took real size and refused to budge. When flow and price disagree, one of them is eventually going to be embarrassed.
