Seeking peer reviewers! JEP x Inkcap collab, "On Gathering"
Dear friends,
As you may recall, I'm putting together an Inkcap-inspired special issue of the Journal of Electronic Publishing, titled "On Gathering." This is really exciting to me, as it's a way to connect the work and ethos of Inkcap with the world of scholarly publishing—and to do so while bringing in new voices and ideas.
The issue is coming together beautifully. We received an incredible array of thoughtful, creative proposals, and have a really wonderful list of accepted pieces by writers with a wide range of perspectives. Now, we're looking for people to help make this work as strong as it can be.
To that end, we are looking for peer reviewers! If you would be willing to serve as a peer reviewer for 1-2 articles in the upcoming JEP special issue, please reply to this email and let me know. The authors and I would be super appreciative!
I also want to share three upcoming events that may be of interest:
Designing Graduate Education for a Thriving Humanities Ecosystem, Feb 7, 2-3:15pm EST (tomorrow!!). This session includes lightning talks and breakout discussions by contributing authors and editors of Graduate Education for a Thriving Humanities Ecosystem (MLA 2023). I'll be there, and will speak about how much has changed in the time since I proposed my chapter in 2018, and how my sense of hopefulness for higher ed has evolved.
Beyond Academia, Feb 22-23. I'm excited to keynote this free conference, run by students at UC Berkeley! Join me for my talk at 1pm EST on Friday, Feb 23, and check out the whole lineup of speakers and discussions.
MLA Sit & Write sessions, monthly on the 3rd Thursday at 10am EST. On March 21, I'll lead a mini-workshop for the first ten minutes called Habits for Thriving in Your Writing. After that, enjoy companionable quiet as everyone turns to their writing projects for the rest of the hour.
