What This Is

This is - as every newsletter I’ve ever written since the end of the blogging era has been - an aspirational space. I intend to:

1. send out a newsletter once every two weeks

2. write about, in no particular order:

   —my upcoming novel, Beings, which is about alienation, archives, queerness, and the first alien abductees, and which you can pre-order here via Bookshop or anywhere books are sold. Look how pretty the cover is:

   

   —my freelance writing work, which is largely book criticism

   —my recent obsessions (old science fiction magazines, queer history, close readings of rhetoric I find weird and iffy, whatever show I happen to be watching...)

   —books I’m reading and enjoying but can’t write about professionally (and, potentially, the political allegories I keep finding [making up?] in my kid’s children’s books)

   —be interesting enough to keep you around

So, uh, here’s hoping?
