My goto stack from prototype to launch - Code with Hugo - 26th November 2018

My goto stack from prototype to launch

In recent weeks I’ve launched/made first sales of the Sequelize ES6 cheatsheet, started a new role and looked at growing Accountable Blogging. I’ve also hit 10,000 monthly users on Code with Hugo so thanks everyone ๐Ÿ™‚.

Fresh this week

1. A simple JavaScript/Node coding setup on Mac OS X: new role -> new gear. This is the stuff I’ve never written down before about how I set up a new OS X machine.

2. Tips to set up iTerm2 A thread with my top tips when setting up iTerm2 from scratch (extracted from the “coding setup” post).

3. Add a client-side paywall using checkoutpage.co and vanilla JavaScript how I built the Sequelize ES6 cheatsheet “paywall”, that the lovely people of the newsletter circumnavigated without paying or realising it was there.

4. Post Frequency: from prototype to production with Vue + Node: ๐Ÿ”ฅ the story behind the Post Frequency build and launch, also a case study on how to set up Vue, Vue CLI and Node/Dokku for productivity.

Old-school posts that some of you might have missed

5. ObservableHQ notebooks for JavaScript demos and prototypes: what and why ObservableHQ exists and how to leverage it for demos.

6. Why you should wrap your (JavaScript) dependencies: wrap your dependencies, a practical example.

7. How components won the โ€œframework warsโ€: a look at how similar Vue, React and Angular really are.

8. Tweet about my monetisation strategy (for anyone who cares), maybe that’ll get you on my checkoutpage/paywall post:

Could also be called “tools to enable my blog monetisation strategy” ๐Ÿ“Š A paywalled page that’s driven to by posts ranking well on Organic Search โฉ Online (interactive) info product ๐Ÿ’ธ More $ than Medium Partner Program or my ill-fated “git for creatives” skillshare course

That’s all from me, until next time ๐Ÿ‘‹.

PS. An update on how organic traffic is growing for those of you into that stuff:
