Volunteers at a Glance | The Hands and Feet of Jesus

Happy Happenings Happy Happenings

There is something special about people who choose to show up.

Throughout this year, Happy Life Mission has been blessed to welcome volunteers and mission groups from near and far. Some have travelled across the world to spend a few days with us, while others have come from right here in Kenya. Some came as groups, others as families or individuals — but they all came with something in common: a desire to serve, to encourage, and to show love to our children.

At Happy Life, we believe that love is not only something we speak about. It is something we demonstrate.

And through the many volunteers who have walked through our gates this year, we have seen that love in action.

They have played with our children, shared meals, listened to their stories, prayed with them, encouraged them, taught them new things, shared their skills, celebrated birthdays and milestones, and simply been present.

Sometimes, the greatest gift is simply showing up.

Hands That Serve. Hearts That Give.

Our volunteers have come from different backgrounds, cultures, churches, professions, and countries. Yet, for a little while, they become part of the Happy Life family.

They come ready to give, but many leave having received something too — new friendships, unforgettable memories, a deeper appreciation for life, and a renewed understanding of what it means to serve others.

For our children, these visits are more than activities on a calendar. They are moments of connection.

Moments when someone sits beside them, listens to them, plays with them, cheers them on, or reminds them that they are loved.

And in these moments, we see what it means to be the hands and feet of Jesus.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink… I needed clothes and you clothed me…”
Matthew 25:35–36

More Than a Visit

Every volunteer leaves something behind.

Sometimes it is a practical contribution. Sometimes it is a new skill shared. Sometimes it is a word of encouragement that a child remembers long after the visitor has gone.

And sometimes, it is simply the memory of someone who came, sat beside them, laughed with them, prayed with them, and made them feel seen.

We are deeply grateful for every person who has given their time and energy to Happy Life Mission this year.

Thank you for coming.
Thank you for serving.
Thank you for loving our children.
Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Your presence has mattered.

And while your visit may have lasted only a few days, the love you shared can leave a lasting mark.
