May-be things are coming x

Hello and welcome to life with Hannah.

Hi friends,

So much can change in a month. This month has been hard and exhausting emotionally and physically. I’ve been going through a break up, new jobs, festivals and trying to get these next few singles finished, which is no small feat.

It’s exciting to spend some time planning the creative side of the new singles, but hard to put those plans into action. I spent some time to myself to process recent events and have been trying to find the balance with working and resting and making. I don’t think I’ve found that balance yet.

In the light of my recent break up, I’ve of course been writing through it. I sort of hate the suggestion from everyone I speak to that the so called silver lining of the pain and hurt is that I’ll write some songs. But I do write songs to process my feelings, I'm just not quite ready to share them with you yet.

Tom and I headed back to the studio this month, and we’ve really been making music I’m proud of and excited about. I’ve been trying to look at merch, artwork, videos and all the creative things that come with releasing music, but finding it hard to balance around working on average 60-70 hour weeks, but it is coming together slowly.

If all goes to plan there will be new music at the beginning of July.

I played a show last week and I played a new song about having a really shit few weeks, but coming out of the other side of it. A very nice man came up to me to tell me how he thought singing about my mental health was brave and he thanked me. I think it made me reflect on how lucky I am to have the people I have around me where I almost don’t think twice about telling people I’m having a bad time. I am supported in speaking about my feelings and I in turn try to support those around me and that is such a privilege.

This is quite a ramble this month, and demo-less. It’s not that the demos don’t exist, they just need some work. But they will get that work and new music will hopefully be here by the time the next newsletter comes out.

Lots of love,

Hannah xx
