Necessary Feedback
Collaborating with youz, talking back to AI, and some free coloring pages!

Based on these three studies for larger artworks, I asked my audience on Patreon what they thought my upcoming series of paintings might be about.
“Being different.”
“What we project to the world versus the experience inside ourselves.”
“It’s a pigment of your imagination.”
These are just some of the many responses I received. Each one is precious to me, because they’re helping me rethink how I’ll proceed with this project.
And that’s important, because this series is going to be different from anything I’ve ever done before. For realz this time.

Rejected, regurgitated, and reinspired…
A friend who doesn’t make art a lot told me they stopped completely after getting some critical feedback. It made me realize that artists are like bison.
AI’s been talking about my work again. An encyclopedia generated by Musk’s “MechaHitler” AI includes a 4500-word entry about yours truly that’s not worth reading, but my reaction to it is.
Two free coloring pages, each with a message that’s timely. Download my “ride or die” for booklovers or my “No Kingzzzzzzzzz” for a sleepy POTUS. And please tip me if it’s something your budget can handle!
Recommendations for nonfiction, a novel, and a short story collection: my favorite books of the last few weeks are Brenda Tsui’s On Muscle, Michelle Good’s Five Little Indians, and Emma Copley Eisenberg’s Fat Swim.
With gratitude,
Gwenn
