As it turns out, painting a mural is a good way to give your brain a reset.

And I was lucky enough to have a client commission me to do just that in August, by creating a 330 square foot artwork of a forest in the reception area of American Fiduciary Services’ offices! The photo above shows half of the finished mural.

• Making brief remarks about my public art at an event celebrating the First Continental Congress. You can see the video of that talk lower down on the page here, after the story of a situation in which I walked away instead of engaging.

• Sharing the mic with Andy Kin, Bill Tucker, and Joey Novick on WDVR. Listen to that interview by searching for the “Let’s Talk” show from 9/14 on this page. I’m the first guest of that episode.

• Presenting about how to make small art that has a big impact. Come to Flemington DIY on October 8th at 6:30pm to hear what I have to say.

• Working on Series XX and talking more about it—including revealing its actual title. It’s my 20th collection of paintings, and, as it evolves over the next year, I’ll be sharing the behind-the-scenes only with those who love my work best. (I’ve already started to share here.)

My current loves are all about the upcoming American holiday season: a Halloweeny “read-or-die” skeleton and an ode to the turkey as well as a collection of winter/Christmas designs and one that focuses on political imagery for our midterm year.
