Game Dev Blog #7 - Project Lion (last time you'll hear this name)
Hello, and happy October! Spooky season is finally upon us. The air is crisp and chilly, and there’s also lots of news to talk about!
Project Lion
Status
I’m still working on Chapter 4, with the intent of having it finished by the end of the month. I’m slightly behind on my self-imposed goal, but for good reason. I’ve already mentioned all the spinning plates, which thankfully have managed to come together:
I’ve received the final key art done by the mega-talented Ben Chandler.
The first music recording session took place on Monday the 19th, with 10 tracks performed by an awesome group of musicians in Brazil. Mark Benis directed the session remotely while composer Pete Gresser and I listened in the whole time with big grins on our faces.

These guys were great. I wonder if they play adventure games. I’ve scheduled appearances on a few adventure game podcasts and my marketing team is getting everything ready for the official announcement.
Oh, right, about that:
Official Announcement Incoming
Project Lion will be officially announced on November 8th, 2026. This announcement will coincide with the launch of the Steam page, as well as a trailer. I’ll also be sending out a special newsletter to remind you all to go wishlist the game. To say this is both exciting and nerve-wracking is an understatement, but I’m really happy with how things have been coming together so far.
So if you want to go speculate before the announcement, or celebrate after it happens, be sure to head over to my Discord channel!
Other News
Last December I was invited to the IndieCade Creator Retreat in downtown L.A. It was a fun time, and they just released a highlight video. See if you can spot yours truly (it’s not too tough)
I’m heading to AdventureX, where I’ll be giving a talk about why every game seems to be getting remade these days. There are still some tickets left, but if you can’t make it, the event will be livestreamed.
So that’s it for this month! Since this is the last time I’ll have to refer to my game by its code name, we can say that this month is going out like a lion.
See you on November 8th…
