This week in Greenwich: a garden crawl on Thursday, Braque set to music at the Bruce, and dinosaurs on Sunday

Morning, Greenwich. The town concert series takes the weekend off between Gunsmoke on Wednesday and Hey Now next Tuesday, which leaves the weekend to the Bruce and to a garden tour that has quietly become one of the better tickets of the summer. A quiet weekend in Greenwich is not the same thing as an empty one.

Best for families this weekend: Science Solvers: Build a Dinosaur at the Bruce Museum on Sunday, free with admission and built for ages 4 and up, and the Saturday exhibition highlights tour at the same address.

Tour de Veggie across private Greenwich gardens, 10 AM to 3 PM. The fourth year of a self guided crawl through vegetable gardens that people in this town do not generally open to strangers, hosted by the Greenwich Land Trust and Greenwich Community Gardens. Tickets are $50 and the garden map is the ticket, mailed out on July 20, so anything bought since then gets picked up in person at the Land Trust office at 370 Round Hill Road on a weekday between 9 and 5. Walk the Distance at Cos Cob Park, Cos Cob. A standing walking group that trades on fresh air and the fact that nobody has to talk if they do not feel like it. Free, all ages, outdoors. Details.

Y through the Ages: Timeline Installation at the YMCA of Greenwich, 50 East Putnam Avenue, downtown. A walk through the Y's role in the town, with free coffee, put up as part of the country's 250th. The Y is one of the few institutions here old enough for a timeline to be interesting rather than dutiful. Free, all ages, indoors. Details.

America at 250: A Celebration in Art, on view through August 31. The town's semiquincentennial art program, running alongside the Bruce Museum's Your Plate Squared installation. Free, all ages. Details.

The Old Greenwich Farmers Market found a new home, and Planning and Zoning approved it unanimously. The market moves to the St. Catherine's Church lots at 11, 13, and 17 Riverside Avenue after Living Hope Church, its old site, filed for a housing and parking expansion. Vendors take the 29 spaces at number 11 and shoppers park at 13 and 17. Wednesdays, 1 to 5 PM, approved through November 11 with annual renewals after that, running 12 to 15 vendors against an expected 200 to 400 shoppers a week. Commissioners Mary Jenkins, Arn Welles, Anne Jones, Brooks Harris, and Margarita Alban all voted yes, with one condition: no amplified sound, to protect the neighbors and the Japanese School. The SoundWaters Flotilla cleared $40,000 this month and has now raised more than $300,000 across ten years. Paddlers put in at Cove Island Park in Stamford and Weed Beach in Darien on July 11 and covered four miles to Boccuzzi Park. President Leigh Shemitz framed the decade as the community gathering around a shared love of the Sound. The money funds hands on environmental education on Long Island Sound. The town marked the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act on the Avenue Wednesday. The commemoration was held at noon in front of Restoration Hardware at 310 Greenwich Avenue, chosen because the Avenue's accessibility improvements were recently finished. Marking the anniversary standing on the curb cuts rather than in a meeting room is the right instinct. Source: Town of Greenwich.

Experiences at the Bruce: Fragments, the Musical Milieu of Georges Braque at the Bruce Museum, 1 Museum Drive, downtown, 2 to 3:30 PM. A curated program of music that Braque loved, music he influenced, and music written for him, staged alongside the Tactile Space exhibition. Baritone Daniel Sutin has sung at the Metropolitan Opera, Covent Garden, and Lyric Chicago; soprano Ashley Galvani Bell has sung Carnegie Hall, Bilbao, and Seville; Steven Eldredge is at the piano, with violist Karl Kessler as guest. Presented with Divaria Productions, light refreshments included. Building a chamber concert around a Cubist's record collection is a properly Greenwich idea, and the roster is better than the premise needs. $16 for members, $20 otherwise. Exhibition Highlights Tour at the Bruce Museum, 1 Museum Drive, downtown. The standing Saturday walkthrough with a museum educator, which remains the fastest way to understand what is currently hanging. Free with admission, all ages, indoors. Details.

Your Plate Squared: Celebrating America's 250th, a Bruce Museum installation on view in town. Part art show, part exhibition, and tied to the same 250th programming running through August. Free, all ages. Details.

Science Solvers: Build a Dinosaur at the Bruce Museum, 1 Museum Drive, downtown, 1 to 3 PM in the Cohen Education Wing. Children take the paleontologist's side of the job, arranging and reconstructing dinosaur skeletons out of cotton swabs and construction paper. Drop in, no registration, ages 4 and up. Two hours, no sign up sheet, and a child leaves believing they have assembled a dinosaur. Free with admission, kids welcome, indoors. Details.

The Parks and Recreation summer concert series returns Tuesday, August 4 with Hey Now playing 1970s music at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park, 100 Arch Street, 7 PM, free. The Future Heavies follow on Wednesday, August 5 with the 1980s set. Details.
