Sleepy dogs, thieving birds, and a garden named Elizabeth 🎃

Hi friend,

It's been a good week at Granny's — the kind where the garden winds down, the coffee stays warm a little longer, and everybody (feathered or otherwise) gets fed. Three new stories went up on the blog, and I wanted to make sure you saw them.

☕ This Is What Sunday Morning Looks Like at Granny's

A cup of coffee. Sleepy dogs. A chores list that can wait. That's the whole agenda, and I'm not sorry about it. This one's short and slow on purpose — just me and my grateful heart enjoying the quietest hour of the week.

🌻 The Feathered Farmers Came Back for Their Harvest

Remember the sunflowers the birds planted last month? The story has an ending now. 🎃 Putting Elizabeth to Bed

The squash and zucchini garden — yes, she's named after my sister, and yes, she earned it by being extra all season — got tucked in for winter this week. Picture a garden wagon overflowing with buttercup squash and zucchini. Now picture it times five. We'll be eating squash until spring.

And because all that squash is headed straight into soups and chili at my house, I wrote up my Garden Squash Chili recipe as a free download — including a creamy soup variation and freezer notes. It's yours, no strings. Consider it a gift from Elizabeth. She insisted.

That's the news from the homestead. The vines are pulled, the pantry's filling up, and the dogs remain unhelpful in the most wonderful way.

Feeding people is my love language — thanks for pulling up a chair.

With a grateful heart, Sandy (& the whole crew at Granny Plants)

PS — I've been cooking up something special for this little community, and it's almost ready to come out of the oven. If you've ever wished you could pull up a chair at my kitchen table... stay tuned. More soon. 💛
