Ridiculous Opinions #81

I’m on the fourth day of a five day vacation at the moment and I have to say that I could remain on “vacation” for the rest of my life. I was already getting tired of “working” and this pandemic has not done anything to alleviate that. I am perfectly content to sit back, draw pictures, write books, and let my beard and hair grow long and shaggy in an attempt to become the hermit I always wanted to be. Alas, no one is coming along with massive amounts of money, so it doesn’t look like that is going to happen.
I started writing the Cindy McCloyd book a few weeks ago and am now at around 16,000 words. It’s coming along fine, but by outlining it well beforehand, I debate whether I have removed all life and spontaneity from the work. We will check out that notion when I reread it in the coming weeks. Still, overall I think it’s pretty good (and pretty weird).
I also received proof copies of two novels-in-waiting books that I’ve written, MY DAD, THE SUPERHERO and SAMANTHA & GEORGE (& ZOOEY). I plan to do a roll out of those books very soon.
Lastly, I think that I’m about midway through the editing of my movie. I only spend a couple of hours in total during the week on the thing. If I had more time, I would have zoomed through it completely, but when you do everything yourself, it can be daunting. I have literally spent about four weeks on a four-minute segment, trying to get it just right, but not quite doing it well. I’m kind of at the point now where I don’t care and just want to get it done.
