Ridiculous Opinions #79

Okay, so last week I told you how I kept my daily tasks in order and how I got them done. So, this week, let’s focus on Maurice and how I make them. I like being flexible with these comics, so that if something happens in the world, I am able to make adaptations and change things up.
I suppose I should tell you the whole story here. In the year 2000, I had an idea that I should do newspaper comics. I had a short run in Shanghai where I did a god-awful comic for a local expat magazine back in the 90s. It was so bad. I just kind of lucked into it and I didn’t know what I was doing and when I look at what I created around that time, I am mortally embarrassed at how utterly horrible it was. Let us never speak of it again.
BUT…I like doing comics. I’m not a good enough artist to produce high quality work, but when it comes to cartoony stuff, I’m all right. So, in 2000, I ended up coming up with what I hoped was a daily comic strip called TJHS 1987. This is the first one.
