My comic, Four Frontiers, debuted on Webtoon yesterday. Webtoon is the biggest online comics forum around, mainly created for manga comics. However, Four Frontiers has made its debut there, as Sandstorm Comics (the publisher) has decided to have a go at online comics. They’re doing it in a neat way, so it’s worth a look. You can find it at the link below:
The most IMPORTANT thing here is for you to actually go, so I can get my numbers up. Just read through the whole thing. It will take you five minutes. Get those numbers nice and high. If you have a Webtoons account, subscribe. It would be well worth your time. The more people go, the higher the numbers get, and the more likely they will be to let me write the sequel. Plus, I have a chip on my shoulder about numbers. Heh, heh.
That’s not all that happened this week. I finally got my finished copies of my Maurice the Beaver collected editions.

I put a LOT of work into these collected editions. There are bonus features galore inside, plus full-color comics, commentary on EVERY SINGLE COMIC and a whole lot more. I spent part of the afternoon today reading them and, if you will indulge me, let me just say that these comics were awesome.
I made well-over 1000 Maurice comics. It took me six years to produce all of these things. By the end of the run, I was regularly pulling in over 100,000 views, and the last couple of comics reached 22 million people. THAT’S A LOT! (We will, of course, ignore the vitriol of the people online who were incredibly pissed that I would remove them all from the internet…people suck).
I spent a lot of time on these Maurice comics and as I have been reading through them, I can only marvel at my own accomplishment. I did that. I made all of those comics. The books you see above? I made those. Every aspect of these things were made by me. I designed the cover. I did the interior layout. I published them. It was all me.
It’s weird to toil in obscurity for so long. Obscurity is where I will probably forever remain, but that’s okay, because I did something. A lot of people do nothing with their day to day lives. They just consume. They don’t contribute. When all is said and done, I’m proud of myself for getting these things done. They were a lot of work and a cool artistic statement about the times in which I lived.
Okay, bragging over. I just think they’re cool and I wish I could get them in everyone’s hands. Unfortunately, I can’t because they’re EXPENSIVE. Turns out, printing in color can cost a fair chunk of change. That’s why they’re so expensive. However, you can buy the regular, black and white editions as well for a much more reasonable price. DO NOTE, however, that the COLLECTOR’S EDITIONS ARE ON SALE RIGHT NOW! Get them while you can!
