Ridiculous Opinions #231

Greetings, all!
It's a fine Saturday morning here and I am about to spend my last, ponderous weekend here in my house before we move to the new school, so not a great deal to say. Today's going to be a link dump. These are all the links that I currently have open in my browser. As is with most of this newsletter, this is a window into my brain. So, if you ever wonder what Randall P. does in his spare time, it's sitting on his computer, reading and watching the following things.
This is all stuff that I haven't read yet that I plan to read this weekend. Hopefully, I'll have time. This is also why I have no social life. Tracey is a very patient person.
Let's get started, shall we?
Go to this page. It's a blog. There's some self-help stuff there, but I like what they wrote the other day, which I will reproduce here in full:
You Are The Latest Version of You
Who you are right now is only the latest version of you. But you’ve lived many different versions of you through your life and, time willing, you’ll live many more. The version that exists today is simply the latest release built upon all of the previous versions.
There have been and will be major and minor releases. There will be new features added and some features changed or removed. Some planned features may even be missing right now. Some features will just be in beta. They can be added later or, perhaps, you’ll decide you don’t really need them after all. There will be bugs that will need to be fixed, of course. You may come to find a version of you at a certain point is not nearly as user-friendly as previous versions and you’ll need to revert.
Some people will be happy with the current version. Others may not be. That’s OK. You can’t control what they think. You can only be sure that you are the best current version you wish to release into the world.
If you find yourself unhappy with the current version, remember that this is your program. You are really the only customer you have to please. You can upgrade, downgrade, fix, change, or re-release any part of it you wish.

Something to remember. We are all software.
In other news, my best friend from high school, Chris, sent me a great cover of one of my favorite Led Zepplin songs by one of my favorite bands, Ween. Enjoy this:

Here's how to achieve the nirvana of psychedelics through breathing.
What if the fundamental stuff of the universe is information?
Sure, they're farm animals to you. But to others, they're so much more!
I don't even know how to describe this one.
Someday soon, I, too, will achieve tech independence.
