I’m back from the dead, people.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that I have a lot to say…I do not. But I wanted to take a bit of a break in terms of writing the newsletter. I have done so and now I’m going to continue (unsubscribe if you don’t like hearing my musings…though your world will be smaller for it).

It is Saturday morning here and several things have changed. I used to write these on Fridays because our weekends here in the UAE were Fridays and Saturdays, but the government changed the game and now our weekends are Saturdays and Sundays like the rest of the world. Fridays are half-days at school now because of Friday prayers, so I have a four and a half day week.

Don’t think that’s anything spectacular, though, because although we have four and a half day weeks, the school has deemed that we must now increase our time on the other days to make up for…I don’t know…lost educational time? That means that we went to eighty-minute classes and teachers who cram extra work in on Fridays because they don’t view that extra afternoon off as “mental wellness” time, but as time that students will be missing class. I have very little respect for teachers at this point in history. But I digress…
