The other day during my advisory class, I gave my students some time to journal. It was only ten minutes, but it was an opportunity for the kids in my homeroom to have some time to write. The questions, stolen from one of my fellow teachers were: How are you doing? What is going well? What is not going well? Pretty simple stuff, really.
The answers that they wrote were a revelation. As would be expected, most of my students were okay. They were a little bit worried about school, but as a whole, there was nothing major happening in their lives that would cause any concern.
But that was only around 70% of my students.
