An interesting and busy week here on the Girdner front. Tracey had her 50th birthday. I almost bought a house, but lost it at the last minute to a higher bid. Harper had her first day of university. Abbey turned in 9 gazillion projects for her various classes at school. I made some movies with my students and chatted with a former student I haven’t spoken to in seven years (shoutout to Ali!).

No one should underestimate how hard it has been to go from teaching online back to the classroom again. I’m getting my sea legs back, but it’s not exactly easy. Last night, Abbey and I came home from school at 4:00 and she said, “Hey, let’s do some art tutorials online!” and I was like, “Yeah, that sounds great!” By 5:00, we were both asleep in front of the TV. We woke at 8:00 and were up for two hours before going back to bed (and sleeping through the night). We are tired.
