Oh, did that get your attention? That I quit?

You are such a sucker, because, quite frankly, you don’t actually know what I quit! I could have quit smoking (I haven’t). I could have quit gambling (nope, I do that every day). I could have quit my job…wait…did I quit my job? Am I no longer a teacher?

Did I finally have enough of that one student in class who has such a crap attitude that they just shoot daggers out of their eyes at me the whole period? Did I look at that student and say, “You know, you’re kind of a spoiled, rich kid…I’m not going to teach you anymore."? Did I just walk out of the room, mid-lecture, straight out the door to my car, and drive off into the sunset? Did I experience the newfound freedom of having been loosed from the shackles of my employment prison?
