I'm Gary Bernhardt:

• I built Execute Program to teach programming languages and other tools in the way that I wish I'd been taught, with lots of interactive code examples, automatic reviews, and nothing to install.

• I've made many live programming videos: sometimes as an educational business, sometimes for fun, and sometimes for conference talks.

• I did a lightning talk called Wat, which has been watched millions of times, which feels weird. Also The Birth & Death of JavaScript, which is longer. Also Boundaries, and Ideology, and others scattered around the web.

• I've written software in many languages, from kernel drivers for embedded devices to SPAs in React; and for tiny startups to Fortune 500 companies. I prefer small companies and having an MMU to catch me when I fall. I have opinions. Condolences.

• I curated an independent software development conference called Deconstruct for a few years. COVID killed it, but you can still watch the videos or read about how I prepare conference talks.

This mailing list is new, and it's foolish to guess what a mailing list will be like. But it will be like something... probably, especially if Twitter turns to dust!
