Day 104. Two nights of strikes, and the president says tonight makes three — “very hard,” plus talk of seizing Kharg Island, which is where Iran’s oil actually leaves the country. Tehran’s answer: the ceasefire is “meaningless” and Hormuz is closed to everything that floats. And yet oil eased — Brent near $92 — partly because the strikes have so far spared energy infrastructure, partly because we’ve been draining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve at the fastest clip since the 1980s: 70 million barrels in five weeks to keep the pumps quiet. That’s not calm; that’s a tab running. Qatari mediators are still in Tehran — the one door nobody has closed yet. I’m watching that door. Leave the bottle.
