From the Editor
Day 93. The last Sunday of May, and the month closes on a familiar note — loud talk, no signatures. In Singapore the defense ministers wrapped three days of summitry, with Hegseth assuring the room that the Gulf force is “more than capable” of going back to work. And yet the one document that matters — sixty days, two blank lines — sat untouched all weekend: Trump’s signature, and Mojtaba Khamenei’s, whose adviser says the President “is not inclined toward negotiation.” Three months in, that’s the shape of it — everyone narrating the war, no one closing it. Oil just booked its worst month since 2020, which means the money, at least, is betting on calm. A fresh round of talks lands Tuesday. I’ll be right here for it. More in the morning.
