Can 016

Just a grey world heritage site

Even with snow everywhere … the start of the year was about as grey as it gets here in Northern Germany. Guess it’s better to say "good thing there was at least some snow" - otherwise, it would’ve been even more dismal. But whatever. Desolate spots and gritty corners are more my thing anyway. I’ve shot that kitschy fairytale castle around here enough as it is. And honestly, there’s already a ton of pictures of it out there anyway 🏰 📷

So, what was I supposed to do when photo FOMO kicked in? I grabbed the camera, headed out, and just kind of hung around the outskirts of town. From north to south. What I found was definitely a lot of grey-on-grey, but it wasn’t completely gloomy after all. More of a stillness. Like everything was on pause.

A few shots that I "found in the fixer" are right here. Some others from this roll are on the website.

Best,
Rob

B&W close-up of a snow-covered wildflower. Grainy textures and a minimalist white background create a delicate winter scene.

Left: B&W film shot of a brick building with a "Räucherfisch Verkauf" sign in a snowy landscape. Right: Close-up of snow-covered crates leaning against a brick wall with visible film grain.

Left: Black and white illustration of a vintage Revue SC4 film camera. Right: Grainy B&W landscape of a frozen river lined with bare trees under a heavy winter sky.

B&W film photo of a thatched-roof hut behind a wooden fence, surrounded by a pristine field of snow.

Notes (for those who like the details):
Camera: Revue SC4 with 50mm Auto Revuenon
Film: Ilford HP5+ (@800)
Developer: Adox XT-3 (1+1)
