A day in Svendborg and no postcard in sight 🙈 (Can 027)
Hi everyone. It’s been a while since the last newsletter — well, it was summer and vacation time. So I spent more time with “outside activities” than staring at a screen. Among other places, I was in Denmark, where I took a little day trip to Svendborg. For the first time. Over the past few years, I’ve only ever driven through on my way to Odense without stopping. This time, I actually made it my destination :)
The small port town in southern Denmark is quite quaint and very relaxed. You can easily park at the harbor and take a stroll through town. Drink coffee, people-watch, take a few pictures.
Usually, I don't shoot that many photos anyway. On vacation, I get along just fine with one roll a day. Sometimes even less. When I developed and scanned the Svendborg pictures, I realized I didn't really capture the touristy “postcard” side of the town. I just ended up capturing a few grungy corners, as always. Seems to be my thing …
However, I don't want to withhold the colorful side of Svendborg from you, and luckily I can fall back on my girlfriend's photos. In color! Whohooo! She started the trip with a Reto Ultra Wide & Slim camera and planned to shoot exactly one (!) roll. Well … it was already full by the time we got to Svendborg 📸. Fortunately, there’s a camera store in town called “Click.” So I squeezed into this tiny shop packed with people to get an ultra-max amount of restock. You can see “Rob at the shop” further down. So the (photo) day was saved — just like this issue, because I don't want to give the impression that Svendborg is bleak.
And all that wandering around makes you hungry. Here's a culinary recommendation in case anyone happens to drop by Svendborg: Café Panino
That's it for this issue. You can find more Svendborg pictures in Can 027.
Best,
Rob

What else is going on?

Can 026 – Spring in the Agfa Optima III — That’s how point & shoot worked in the ‘60s.

Maybe clothing? – I recently posted this picture in an Insta story and got a few replies. Unfortunately, the design doesn’t exist in real life yet. I’m not sure if anyone is actually interested in it… If you are, drop me a line. We'll see what happens. Until then, you can find more illustrated cameras here. Maybe yours is among them ☺️?
