what is formyths doing

happy belated new year! here's what i made these past two months.

art ✎

page 1 of a comic in bright red, teal, and gold, with interlaced panels of a spine & a pine tree, surrounded by patterns of algae cells, filigree, & roots. text reads "every particle of you collapses under the years." page 2 of the comic, central panels rapidly moving through different times of day, a border of the five phase (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) feeding into each other around them. text reads "remember each breath"

transmutation

i've been doing an end of year/ new year's comic for the past few years so this is the latest edition. goodbye 2020.

digital art studies of a japanese train station at night, a purpe-red canyon, a street overlooked buildings behind a low wall with potted plants, and a wintry lake.

some more studies, trying to figure out coloring methods. top left is based on a photo by @metaphor_472, the other three are from mapcrunch/ street view.

a water buffalo steps partially out of a red decorative frame with peaches on each corner, horns gleaming, a halo of 9 peach blossoms above its head, coat a gleaming dark purple.

happy lunar new year! 新年快乐! a piece for the year of the ox, ft. a water buffalo with a halo of peach blossoms and a frame of peaches 🐃

for fun here's the lunar new year/ zodiac pieces i've done for the past four years 🐓🐕🐖🐀

other stuff ✷

a grid of 6 photos taken in streetview, of roadside bushes, buildings overshadowing a road, a road curving in purple-red hills, sunny plains stretching out beyond shadow, birds hanging over the ocean in early morning light, a car in the shadow of an emtpy lot

lately i've been wandering around streetview via mapcrunch and taking pictures. theoretically i was looking for new places for virtual plein air but i got very distracted.

got the chance to collaborate with fukumono to design some apparel! the designs will be releasing next week on march 11 at 11am est (utc-5) if i did my time zone conversion right & will be available here. they'll be a little pricey sorry. (also obligated to say that if for whatever reason you'll be buying more than one thing you can use code FUKUMYTH to get free shipping.) is this an extremely inefficient scheme to get myself a tiger shirt? maybe

that's all! hoping i'll actually get more personal work done in the next few months. thanks for reading!
