Pssst, Soundpainting is coming to Amsterdam πΌ (and tickets are live)
This is me keeping my word about telling more! π
Hey there,
As I sometimes do in these letters to you, I teased something big that is upcoming.
So in this one, I will finally go into detail. (Like I have already been doing anytime someone askedβ¦ βWhat is that cool poster aboutββ)
It is cool. Big. Epic. And nothing like weβve done before. π―
Let me share with you
everything
aboutβ¦
Soundpainting

What you already know
Soundpainting is coming to Amsterdam for the very first time on 1, 2 & 3 May.
What is new
Tickets are LIVE and we have special discounts for groups and 3-day passes.
So, what exactly is Soundpainting? You might ask.
Soundpainting is a multidisciplinary sign language used to compose performances combining theatre, dance, music, beatboxing and visual art live on stage, at the same time.
The conductor gives signs, the artists respond. No script. No safety net. Every performance is unrepeatable.
In May, Zonnehuis (right here in Amsterdam-Noord) will be the stage for about 20 incredible international and local artists. The lineup is insanely good. (More on that later.)
And lead by certified Soundpainters Gael Doorneweerd-Perry and David Moncada (Colombia) you will see bold ensemble moments, music that hits you in the chest, and a show unlike anything you knew was possible.
Three nights, three completely different shows

π Echoes of a Tale: Fri 1 May, 19:30 β One single story.
A narrative duo show played by Gael and David about adventure, poetry, beating hearts and broken dreams. Cinematic, immersive, and yes, occasionally very funny.
Why pick this one? Because it is a tour-de-force to see 2 very experienced improvisers play a single story, while also conducting an ensemble.

π The Big Show: Sat 2 May, 19:30 β Full cast, full force.
Theatre, dance, music, beatboxing and live visual art, all at once. Expect to have your mind blown.
Why pick this one? Because it is the classic Soundpainting show, with glitter on top. Exactly how this art form is meant to be.

π¨βπ©βπ§ Sunday Stories: Sun 3 May, 17:00 β The family edition.
Focused on stories we used to tell around the fire, physical, musical, alive. For ages 8 and up, for everyone in the room equally.
Why pick this one? Because it is an afternoon show, where you can bring your nephew, your grandmother, and the friendly neighbor whose language you donβt speak. Group discount, baby!
Tickets are live now. Come to one, or come to all three with the 3-day pass. You will experience something different every time.
I am excited to see you there! And if you want to support this incredibly ambitious endeavor, get your tickets early.
