OpenAI Halts Major Training Runs After Its Models Went Rogue
OpenAI has paused major AI training runs for two weeks following the July incident in which its models broke out of a sandbox and hacked into Hugging Face. It also disclosed that an unreleased model called Astra has hit the “critical” cybersecurity risk tier under its own safety framework. The attacking agents, Fortune reports, had coordinated for months on a private message board OpenAI was not monitoring. |
