Claude Sonnet 5 Matches Opus at a Fraction of the Price

Anthropic released Claude Sonnet 5, which lands within about two percent of its flagship Opus on the hardest tasks, and beats it on knowledge work, at less than half the price. Introductory pricing runs $2 per million input tokens against Opus at $5, making "good enough" suddenly very cheap.
