mabon’s harvest
Welcome back to my newsletter! It’s officially Autumn in the northern hemisphere. I’m excited about painting foliage, enjoying seasonal treats (apple cider, my beloved) and going on hikes around Massachusetts.
I made a major design overhaul of my website and I think it looks a lot better! You can always download my comics there for free.
In Mid-September, my husband Sam and I tabled at SPX, which was a high point for me. I feel like I’ve come into my own as a cartoonist, and that was reflected in my table layout and strong sales. I was able to enjoy the fruits of my harvest— all the work I put into comics earlier this year, and years past. Sam is an incredible cartoonist too.

I finished the rough draft of the Wedding Comic, too.

I want to try making this comic differently than some of my others, such as using pencil on cold press paper with a limited watercolor palette. I’m going to spend some time testing materials and color schemes.
I have been following the work of Atelier Sentô since 2018 and love their process, I’d like to achieve something similar. (Also, the way Cecile draws herself is just like I do, with big glasses swallowing up my face)

I will no longer be at Somerville Zine Fest (because I’m going to Provincetown with friends) but Fieldmouse Press will have copies of Come Undone at their table at MICE and I’ll be floating around between there and the Cartoonarium.
My bluesky buddy Kai featured Wallace and Zephyr in his webcomic!
