On sharing.
Hi, gang! This is the last new Enthusiasms for the summer while the team here at Enthusiasms HQ enjoys our traditional August off from blogging. As always, we’ll be sending out some hits from the archives in the meantime so you don’t miss us too much.
HAG(rest of)S. See you in September! <3

I don’t know how they do it—the chocolate’s always melty like it was just baked, pulled straight from the oven and put into your outstretched hand.

My son knows our farmer’s market routine well enough that now, even from the parking lot, he gets excited. Cookie! Cookie! I’ll grab a couple loaves of bread and then a treat for us. If we’re lucky, if we manage to get there early enough, they’ve still got all the best ones stocked up and ready to sell.
We’ll sit down in the grass and split it, some for me and some for you. Big piece, he says, smiling like he’s got the winning ticket. He’s got chocolate all over his fingers, smeared around his mouth, threatening to get all over everything. On my shirt, in my hair, wherever. I don’t even mind.
