Cats, Part 2
On good company.
C. has been away for a conference, so it’s just been me and the cats all week. It’s a bit funny, being right here on the cusp of probably finding it difficult to be alone at all for any reason and knowing I probably will miss this state very soon, but being alone all the time has been so boring!

So, thank goodness for the cats. After a little over a year since adopting them, they are much less like strangers to me, and I feel much less as if I’m on the outside looking in. A baby bunny! I announced to both of them this morning, pointing out the window, and they both really looked, though who knows at what or why, but I was happy to have their company either way.
Here, again, in no particular order, are more good things my cats do:
Hunt large moths that have gotten in the shower in the middle of the night
Believe any food item that comes in a bag could be their treats, and appear beside you to receive it just in case
Gradually lose all of their toys beneath the stove
Hunt the Roomba, Borpo, as he does his job
Jump into bed as soon as my alarm starts going off, eager first for pets and then for breakfast
Rotate through their various spots throughout the day (bed, ottoman, windowsill: Olive; under blanket, on top of cat hut, behind couch cushion: Zig)
