$12 Milk Frother from Williams Sonoma

The mega-yacht owners of the world would have you believe that luxury is a rarity reserved only for those who can afford it, but I am here to tell you that this is a lie.

I never feel fancier than when I make myself an at-home tea latte with the $12.00 milk frother I bought at a Williams Sonoma like a year ago. This is not a screed against buying coffee out or paying for something better—both my skills as a barista and the functionality of the milk frother could be improved, at a cost, and probably one that would deliver results.

But I hope it is more like an appreciation for the finer things in life and a recognition that they are much more abundant than they may seem. A little treat, right at my fingertips, and all it really takes is about sixty seconds of microwave time. I also hope this knowledge—that luxurious things can be plentiful and accessible—makes them less of an item and an experience to hoard. Why keep it to yourself when it’s so easy and lovely?

Plus, thanks to Casey Johnston, I discovered my $12 milk frother is also the ideal tool for mixing protein powder into a perfectly smooth shake. Delightful.
