Keeping Cool This Summer - and in the Upcoming Heatwave
While it’s crucial to keep warm during the winter, it is just as important to keep cool in the summer.
We’re moving into a potentially hot and dry summer, plus a potential heatwave in the next few days. And there are lots of things that you can do to keep cool:
Avoid being in the sun between 11-3, when it is strongest.
Keep to the shade, wear a hat, and put on sunscreen when going outside.
Stay hydrated. Always keep plenty of cool water to hand.
Keep windows and curtains closed during the hottest parts of the day and open at cooler times. This is particularly true for south facing walls, where the sun is the strongest during the day, otherwise more heat will be let in.
