Update on the Price Cap
The Energy Price Cap sets the unit prices for gas and electricity for households on a standard variable tariff
Unfortunately, due to the current situation in the Middle East, forecasts show that the price cap will likely increase by £196 a year from 1st July.
This means the cost of energy per year will stand at £1,837 for a typical dual fuel household, an increase of 12% on April’s cap
This is a worry for many people, and the Charity StepChange has called for a social tariff to help struggling households - a discounted energy deal aimed at supporting low-income, vulnerable, or disabled households
